Born and raised in Vietnam for the first 10 years of my life, I spent almost every summer in South Vietnam, along the Mekong river bank. During my time in Vietnam, I vividly remember thousands of local wood shops where people could just walk in, choose a type of in-house wood, and tell the carpenter what they wanted. Watching the carpenter cut pieces in such a way that they fit together as tightly as if they'd grown that way, and using only hand tools, was mesmerizing. That memory has stayed with me ever since.My journey didn't begin in a fancy showroom, but in the living room of my best friend, Joey. One afternoon, I visited Joey's newly renovated condo, which was filled with ordinary furniture that felt cold and uninspired. As someone who truly values design with heart, I left thinking, "I can do better than this."

That moment sparked a deeper idea: modern homes deserved furniture that was not only useful and beautiful, but also made responsibly and with care. I left my career in architecture to follow this vision. Soon after, Joey joined me, becoming the second founder of Mim Concept. Together, we built more than just a brand; we built a mission.

What started as a personal pursuit quickly evolved into a greater calling: to design furniture that feels as good as it looks, that’s made responsibly, and that doesn’t cost the earth literally or financially.
